Olivia Burton, 23, moves to California with her boyfriend Francis Morales (24), against the wishes of the respective family members. Francis’ mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who disapproves of her son’s lifestyle and expresses her feelings through violent, religious-themed postcards. Despite these objections, the young lovers settle into a new, exciting life together. Their bliss is cut short, but after a freak accident, Francis is injured physically and mentally. He soon suffers from night terrors – he whispers to Olivia’s invisible figure in his sleep and sleepwalks to strange corners of the house. These episodes terrify Olivia and also lead her to believe that Francis is hiding something from her.
